If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you probably know that we recently added a new pup to our family: Rémy the French bulldog.
Our other Frenchie, Blanka, passed away very suddenly in April. I was so heartbroken that I started browsing Petfinder -- not because I was looking for a new dog, but because I needed something to do. I stumbled across Rémy, a young (two-year-old), purebred healthy French bulldog with no behavioral issues. You might not know this about French bulldogs, but they're very expensive dogs and they have a lot of health problems. For that reason, you'll find a healthy Frenchie available for adoption approximately...never. Rémy was a breeder surrender, though, and the breeder had just given the okay for him to be adopted out.
We weren't looking for a new pup so soon, but we knew we had to jump on it. Plus, his name was Rémy -- also a character in Street Fighter, like our late Blanka, so it was clearly fate. We started the adoption process right away, and we brought him home on April 26, the day we got back from our trip to Brazil.
I got Rémy set up with an Instagram account right away -- not because I expect him to be a famous #instapet (though he's clearly got potential), but because I love posting pictures of dogs and my regular Instagram followers would rather I do that...somewhere else. Understandably.
Anyway, you can follow Rémy on Instagram: @remybull
And in the event that you are looking to make your pet Insta-famous, here are a couple of articles I've written on the subject -- complete with expert commentary!
